Connelly won the Academy Award for her role as the
long-suffering wife of a crazy genius in 'A Beautiful
Mind', is giving real-life marriage a try with the
actor who played a figment of her movie husband's
imagination.
Connelly and the London-born, English actor Paul Bettany
were married in a small private ceremony in Scotland
over the Christmas holidays, her her agent, Risa Shapiro
said on Friday.
Shapiro said she could not offer any specifics about
the event, but added that the couple had been dating
since April of last year.
Connelly, 32, made her screen debut as a child in
1984's 'Once Upon a Time in America' and has appeared
in the films 'The Rocketeer', 'Dark City', 'Waking
the Dead', and 'Pollock'. She will next be seen in
the upcoming comic-book adaptation 'The Hulk'.
Bettany, who has also appeared as 14th century writer
Geoffrey Chaucer in 'A Knight's Tale', played a mysterious
classmate of Nash's in 'A Beautiful Mind'. He has
recently wrapped the period drama 'Master and Commander:
The Far Side of the World' co-starring with Crowe
again.
