MCDORMAND
TEAMS UP WITH NICHOLSON FOR COMEDY FLICK
|
|
Frances McDormand is set to star in the untitled Columbia Pictures comedy written and directed by Nancy Meyers. She joins Jack Nicholson, Diane Keaton, Keanu Reeves and Amanda Peet.
|
|
McDormand will play the sister of Keaton, who takes
up with the mature boyfriend (Nicholson) of her daughter
(Peet) after he has a heart attack and convalesces
at her Hamptons house.
Though it's touted as original it does sound like
there's a bit of 'The Man Who Came To Dinner' in there.
And Meyers does have a track record of updating classic
screwball comedies like 'Father Of The Bride'.
McDormand's character helps her choose between Nicholson's
character and a young dashing doctor (Reeves).
Meyers has still not chosen a title for the comedy,
but it will be the next acting job for McDormand.
The Oscar winner ('Fargo') will next be seen starring
in 'Laurel Canyon', which Sony Pictures Classics opens
on March 7 in the US.

this is the first time Nicholson sleeps with the older
