NEVE CAMPBELL COLLECTS HER ENGLISH 'LEGACY'

Former big Screamer Neve Campbell and writer/director Dan Ireland are teaming up for 'The Legacy'.

It's an indie feature inspired by 'Pierre et Jean' written by French novelist Guy de Maupassant.

'Legacy' is plotted around a rift that develops between two brothers after one receives an inheritance and the other does not. Campbell portrays a young American widow who is travelling in England and is taken in by the boys' family.

Both brothers fall in love with her. Sacha Grunpeter, who co-wrote the script with Ireland, will also take on a role in the film.

The U.K./Canadian co-production, budgeted at about $10 million, is scheduled to begin production June 1 in the United Kingdom.

Candian born Campbell has a Scottish dad and will segue into the project after she wraps shooting the U.K.-based comedy feature 'Churchill: The Hollywood Years'. This production co-stars Christian Slater.

In fact, after a quiet time since the Scream franchise ended, she has several films due out in the coming year, including Robert Altman 's 'The Company' and 'Blind Horizon'.

Ireland previously directed such features as 'The Whole Wide World' and 'The Velocity of Gary'. He will next direct 'Passionada', starring Emmy Rossum, Jason Isaacs and Sophia Milos, due out in August.
