WORD'S OUT ON SCRABBLE COMEDY

For a triple points score, rearrange the following letters into... no seriously!

Director Michael Lehmann (40 Days and 40 Nights) is in negotiations to take the helm of 'Your Word Against Mine', a romantic comedy set in the world of competitive Scrabble, sources said.

"Word" follows a young man trying to become national Scrabble champion. But his plans are put in jeopardy when he meets an equally competitive female player.

The project first made headlines two years ago when the script was picked up by Miramax, and co-writer Peter Speakman was working as an assistant at the studio's Dimension Films banner. Michael M.B. Galvin also wrote the script.

Besides his most recent film "40 Days," a Universal/Miramax project released in 2002, Lehmann has directed such features as 'The Truth About Cats & Dogs', 'My Giant', and 'Airheads'.
