It
follows several intertwined stories relating to the
9/11 terrorist attacks which resulted in the murder
of 3000, men, women and children by Islamofascists.
In separate storylines exploring crime and punishment
in the wake of the attacks, Close will play a U.S.
federal agent, Gyllenhaal an American student in China,
and Sauli an artist trying to provoke a public reaction.
Filming is scheduled to begin late next month in New
York.
Five-time Oscar nominee Lumet, who turns 79 this week
amid a career renaissance that saw him create the
recent A&E crime drama '100 Center Street', will direct
from a script by Tom Fontana, who will executive produce
with his 'Homicide: Life on the Street' partner Barry
Levinson.
Close is a five-time Oscar nominee, most recently
in 1989 for 'Dangerous Liaisons'. She is filming 'The
Stepford Wives' opposite Nicole Kidman and next appears
in the comedy 'Le Divorce' with Kate Hudson and Naomi
Watts.
After her breakthrough performance in the indie 'Secretary'
last year, Gyllenhaal next appears in 'Casa de Los
Babys', 'Shattered Glass' and 'Mona Lisa Smile'.
Sauli's credits include the indie 'Seven and a Match'
and a guest shot on HBO's 'Sex and the City.
