RYAN JOINED IN 'WEDLOCK' WITH NOBLE BRIT STAGE VETERAN

Meg Ryan is engaged to star in 'Wedlock', which will mark the feature directorial debut of Adrian Noble, the outgoing head of the Royal Shakespeare Company.

'Wedlock', is about a married couple who work as divorce lawyers. Having grown distant from each other, they decide to see an unconventional marriage counsellor who puts them through a series of unusual exercises to bring them back together.

The project, written by Thompson Evans, is being produced by Sony-based Escape Artists.

Ryan next stars in Paramount Pictures' 'Against the Ropes' and Screen Gems' 'In the Cut'. She was most recently in theatres with 2001's 'Kate & Leopold'.

(And most recently in the news with her Russell Crowe saga.)

Noble is the youngest man to run the Royal Shakespeare Company, a post he held for 19 years and is not renewing after his current term. His last production is Ibsen's 'Brand', stars Ralph Fiennes and is currently running at the Theatre Royal Haymarket in London through Aug. 31.
