CHARLIE'S ANGELS WING IT INTO LONDON FOR PREM

Hollywood stars Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore and Lucy Liu swept into London on Tuesday evening for the British premiere of the action comedy sequel 'Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle'.

The glamorous actresses were among a host of stars who wowed onlookers in Leicester Square ahead of the gala screening of the movie. The movie opens across the UK on the day the American's won their Independence from, well... us! - that's July 4.

'We want everyone to enjoy films when they go to them and have entertainment, and education, and escapism and a celebration of life, and that's what we want to do with this film', Barrymore told Sky News as the trio arrived.

Mobbed by fans, they walked down a pink carpet instead of the traditional red one for the night.

The square was also filled with palm trees, and guests were showered with bubbles.

Diaz, Barrymore and Liu are reunited in the sequel based on the popular 1970s television series.

They play secret crimefighters in a story some critics have described as being as skimpy as their outfits. The trio is on a mission to discover every person in the U.S. witness protection program.

The film went straight to #1 at the U.S. box office charts last weekend, taking in $38 million. Its hit predecessor, 'Charlie's Angels', generated $125 million at the U.S. box office after it opened in November 2000. It also grossed $138 million outside North America.
