She'll be working opposite Brit beauty, brainiac and
top thesp Rachel Weisz in the indie drama.
Shooting is scheduled to start Tuesday in Vancouver on the $5 million-budgeted film. John Wells, the executive producer behind NBC dramas "ER," "Third Watch" and "The West Wing", is producing through his Warner Bros. Pictures-based production outfit along with director Peyton Reed. Reed was recently booted from "The Fantastic 4" movie.
Penned by LaMure, "Daisy" stars Emma Roberts in the title role as an 11-year-old girl who lives with her photographer mother in a small Oregon town. After experiencing a life-changing loss, Daisy copes in an especially unique and remarkable way.
Emma Roberts starred as Johnny Depp's young daughter in "Blow" and next stars in Miramax Films' "Spymate" for director Robert Vince. She is the daughter of Eric Roberts and Kelly Cunningham.
Since her star-making turns in The Mummy movies, Weisz has been mega-busy recently. She's starred on the big screen in Lions Gate Films' "Confidence" and Neil LaBute's "The Shape of Things" for Focus Features. She next stars in "Envy" for DreamWorks Pictures and "Runaway Jury" for Regency Enterprises and 20th Century Fox.
"Daisy" marks LaMure's feature debut following the short film "Wasted Talent." She also has executive produced or produced music videos for such artists as the Offspring, Third Eye Blind, Savage Garden, Live, Cyndi Lauper , Hanson, Eve 6, Counting Crows and the Black Crowes.
