| 'CHAINSAW
MASSACRE' DIRECTOR FILLS 'NEED' WITH DIANE LANE? |
|
He came. He chain-sawed. He conquered.

The
director of the hit remake of "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre"
has signed to take the helm of "Need," a thriller with
Oscar nommed Diane Lane nearing a deal to star.
Marcus Nispel became a wanted man around town when his
feature directorial debut, the $9 million-budgeted "Chainsaw,"
tore up the BO to $28.1 million in the US. Its gross
stands at $66.1 million.
The Monday after the film's opening weekend, the German-born
music-video veteran was deluged with offers, sources
said.
In "Need," a Paramount project loosely based on David
Lawrence's novel of the same name, a successful New
York therapist discovers that one of her patients --
a suicidal woman -- is having an affair with her husband.
Lane is in final negotiations to play the therapist.
The co-starring roles have yet to be cast.
Production is slated to start Feb. 1 in Los Angeles.
