In
the days following the World Trade Center tragedy in
the fall of 2001, a journalist (Weaver) agrees to help
a New York Fire Department captain (LaPaglia), who lost
most of his firemen in the towers, write eulogies for
eight of them. As the film progresses, the duo discusses
the lives of each of the men, as we learn more about
the profession, the emotions resulting from 9/11, and
the meaning of heroism. |
|
This
tribute is based on a the real-life eulogies given to
the Emergency Service victims of the terrorist attacks
on New York, 11 September 2001. What can one say except
that I hope it truly honours and respects those brave
people. |
