Based
on the classic 1955 Ealing comedy. A dim gang of crooks
plans to rob a River Boat Casino in the Deep South of
the USA. They rent a house to plan their heist - but
the innocent old landlady constantly and accidentally
symies their plans. So they decide to bump her off.
However - this is a lot harder and funnier than they
first think. |

There
would be no way this could succeed except for three
words: Ethan & Joel Coen. The original 'The Ladykillers'
starred Alistair Sim, Alec Guiness Peter Sellers, and
Herbert Lom. It's not widely known in the States, so
it's unlikely anyone will be making comparisons over
there. However in the UK, it has many admirers as one
of the funniest black comedies ever- and people will
be waiting to pounce. But I have a funny feeling that
those wacky Coen's can pull it off. Here's hoping. |
